About 1/3 of all students play a varsity sport, so there is a definite athlete vibe to the school, which is badass. Most people, athletes or not, are active, which is badass and great for the student body. There is a downside to not being able to go to a football game packed with 70,000 fans, but at least when you go to games here you're usually cheering on your friends. IM sports are taken pretty seriously, which is badass. Also, although I don't really think Harry Potter is badass, Middlebury does sport a Quiddich team that actually plays competitive matches and has garnered national press attention.
