By now, I guess you must have heard of the landmark $3 billion fundraising campaign launched by the university. The last campaign for Berkeley has raised $1.3 billion in gift and pledges since Jul '05. Hmmm, isn't the campaign figure this time a bit too optimistic? I know it is a five years project but $3 billion is indeed a lot of money. I guess the university will exhaust its every avenue to achieve its objective which may include asking us, the students, to contribute towards the fundraising project. I know the university is trying to attract the world most talented faculty to the university and provide more scholarship to brilliant students but please don't ask us to chip in!
