Top 5 Summer Sublet Facts: Most summer sublets are listed AFTER spring break, which for UC Berkeley this year is the last week in March. We see a big increase in sublet listings in April and even May. Most summer sublets are for a full two or three months, usually beginning sometime around mid-May to June 1 and ending in late July or by mid-August. You may wish to plan your visit accordingly or try to negotiate with the lister for a shorter term if you need it. It is UP TO YOU to negotiate the terms and conditions of your sublet with the listers. The sublet listings will include either a telephone number, which will usually be in the 510 area code unless otherwise noted, and/or an e-mail address, or possibly (but more rarely) open house information, which would require you to be nearby in order to participate in the open house.
