I always knew that the faculty at Berkeley is one of the best but I didn't realize that they were this good. A week or so ago the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation announced that six professors from Berkeley have been awarded 2008 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowships. The fellowships are awarded based on distinguished achievement. There were well over 2,000 people who were up for a fellowship and six from Berkeley won. They winners will get funding to help further their research, creativity and work. I'm pretty proud to say that I go to a college that has such prestigious faculty.
