I just couldn't emphasize enough on the way to lock your bike properly. Make sure that the U-lock which you use in locking your bike is secured to the frame to your rack and not the wheels. Please take a look at the picture below to get a better understanding from it. Do you know that you got to have a license for your bike? If you don't have one, you better get it at the Upper Sproul Plaza, near Sather Gate. Bring your bike and proof of purchase along as you would need them for registering. Call 2-6760 to find out about the time available for registering. Always ride with the traffic, signal your turns and moves and try to ride as far to the right to enhance the safety of your riding trips.
