he first test on self steering bus was done in the street of San Leandro by Han-Shue Tan, an UC Berkeley research engineer. The bus was guided by tiny magnets embedded in the pavements and stopped at a bus stop with unbelievable accuracy. The driver only control the speed of the bus while the direction of the bus was totally controlled by the magnetized system. This test brought the step closer in bringing the precision of a rail system to the flexibility of a bus. It is hope that with such a guided system, more people will switch to using buses in their transportation as it is more precised and speedier. I can' wait to board such a bus and I really hope Tan will make it a reality so that the environment can be further preserved when people are switching from their cars tot he guided bus system.
