Stanford is not well known for its party environment. The people are here to get one of the best educations a university can provide and they get that in spades. That does not mean that there are no parties here. You can usually find something going on over the weekend but most of the students are out on the town or somewhere besides on campus. I think the night life here is mild compared to other colleges I know about but that suits me just fine as I am a laid back person anyway.
