Fear And Classes
3
When I decided to go to Berkeley I was excited and looking forward to college life at one of the best colleges around. Then when I went to my first class I became terrified. First of all the class was large. I don't large like maybe 30 students; I mean large like a hundred students, maybe more. This was nothing like my high school days. I became terrified that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the work, that the other students in the class would all be smarter than I was, and worst of all that the professor wouldn't know me from a hole in the wall. I mean in high school one way that I always got decent grades was to make sure the teacher knew who I was. College was starting to scare me. But then I started to get the hang of things. I made friends in my classes, we helped each other out, and I sat near the front so the prof at least recognized me. What I really want to say that if you come to Berkeley don't let the classes or the class size scare you. Take a deep breath and go to it. Berkeley is a great college, with great classes, and there are lots of places where you can go if you need help. Everyone is here to help you do well. I'm really enjoying life here.
