With the soaring oil prices earlier on, I find that most students has been switching to another mode of transportation in their daily commuting from their home to the university. This is especially true for those who drive to class daily. Student parking permit sales had come down by 4.5% compared to the same last year and car pool permit sales were down 13.7%. Most of my friends who are driving in the past has switched to public transportation or even bicycles in their daily commuting to the campus. Yet another option is available if you do not wish to commute to the campus. The number of UC Berkeley online courses haves quadrupled since last year and with these increase in option, more students are opting for them.
