There’s nothing like Texas Barbecue, and there are so many places to give a try. Personally, I like Iron Works BBQ on Red River, not far from the convention center, and Rubys BBQ on Guadalupe. Iron Works is a little touristy but their beef ribs are great. The ambiance is pretty rustic and there always seems to be a line, but if it’s big old Texas BBQ Ribs you’re looking for, then this is the place to go. If I’m in the mood for Brisket though, it’s definitely Ruby’s on 29th Street just off Guadalupe. Both places offer catering as well, but the ambiance of eating in both places can’t be beat.
